Spiked Apple Pie
T here’s nothing better than some boozy hot apple cider on a brisk fall day! I was playing around with recipes and discovered this new gem. The hot apple cider, with Fireball Whiskey and smooth vanilla vodka really makes this taste like Spiked Apple Pie in a glass!
Fall is a season that has so many bold colours and flavours attached to it. Though, I have to be honest and say I am actually not a fan of pumpkin spice! I know, I know!! I’m going to get heat for that one, I’m sorry it just never appealed to me! But apple cider however… that’s my jam!
I was also looking for an excuse to use of the rest of my Homemade Vanilla Vodka. Wait… did I say I needed an excuse? Scratch that. I just wanted to add yet another recipe to my arsenal so I have an excuse to make more.
Autumn Vibes Only
This really is autumn in a glass
I added a special rim to really enhance the fall flavours. First I rimmed the glass with pure organic maple syrup. Then I rolled it in a mixture of organic brown sugar, cinnamon and a hint of flaked sea salt.
The sweet and salty mixture really brings out the flavours! I definitely recommend you don’t skip this step.
As for the glass I used a tall thick glass beer stein. It’s a hearty drink and needed a hearty glass. But feel free to use whatever favourite mug you have on hand, the cuter the better.
Smooth and Spicy Spiked Apple Pie!
The real kick to this cocktail comes from the spicy Fireball Whiskey. Cinnamon for fall is a no-brainer, but when Fireball gets involved it brings the heat! I love a little spice, and I don’t typically go for super sweet drinks so this is just the right balance. So enjoy a hot cup of Spiked Apple Pie and don’t be shy about seconds.
Spike Apple PIe - Boozy Apple Cider
Ingredients
- 5-6 oz Fresh Organic Apple Cider
- 1 oz Vanilla Vodka
- 1 oz Fireball Whiskey
- Apple Slices for Garnish
- 1 Tbsp Organic Maple Syrup for Rim
- Brown Sugar, Cinnamon and Flaked Sea Salt for Rim
Instructions
- Simmer the Apple Cider on the stove to heat it up. Add extra apple slices and cinnamon bark for flavour
- Dip the rim of the glass in maple syrup then roll in the brown sugar mixture to coat.
- Add the Vanilla Vodka, Fireball Whiskey and top with hot cider
- Drink it slow and go back for seconds!
