W hen inspiration hits you better run with it! Halloween is one of my favourite events of the year. There’s just something magical about it and it brings out the kid in me. The pumpkins, the movies, the costumes, the parties and oh my yes the candy. But the adult version of candy is a great cocktail so I crafted the ultimate potion, The Basic Witch Martini.

Halloween is all about fun. We might be celebrating a bit differently this year, but that doesn’t mean we can’t still have fun. I’ll be spending Halloween with my sisters from another mister and their amazing kids. I can’t show up empty handed though so I’ll be bringing some candy for the kids, and making martinis for the adults.

This Basic Witch Martini is dedicated to all amazing not-so-basic women out there who work hard and play harder. It’s dedicated to the moms planning halloween costumes, the single ladies in search of magic, the women who went back to school, the badass babes chasing their dreams and everyone in between.

Not your basic martini

My Basic Witch Martini is a not-so-basic twist on the classic French Martini.

A French Martini is vodka shaken over ice with Chambord and pineapple juice.  It’s smooth, sweet and goes down a little too easy. Oh that sounds about as naughty as it is.

I’ve stepped it up a notch and brewed my own magical martini for all my Basic Witches reading this.

What’s the ultimate basic vodka twist? Pink Whitney! Pink Whitney is a smooth, addictive pink lemonade flavoured vodka inspired by a famous hockey player named Ryan Whitney. It’s only been around for a short while but it has taken the cocktail world by storm and if you haven’t tried it, here’s your excuse!
